چکیده
In the last fteen years the Quasi-Steady-State-Approximation (QSSA) method has been a commonly used method to integrate stii ordinary diierential equations arising from atmospheric chemistry problems. In this paper a theoretical analysis of the QSSA method is presented, stressing certain strengths and weaknesses. This theory leads to practical improvements to the QSSA method.

Benchmarking Stii Ode Solvers for Atmospheric Chemistry Problems I: Implicit versus Explicit
In many applications of atmospheric transport-chemistry problems, a major task is the numerical integration of the stii systems of ordinary diierential equations describing the chemical transformations. This paper presents a comprehensive numerical comparison between ve dedicated explicit and four implicit solvers for a set of seven benchmark problems from actual applications. The implicit solv...

Numerical models in meteorology, oceanography, air pollution dispersion and atmospheric chemistry require signiicant computational resources. Distributed memory parallel computers became cost-eecient during the 1990's. EEcient utilization of high performance computing power requires development of parallel computational techniques. In order to stay on a competitive level in numerical modelling,...
